How can I help? Is the single most asked question that we receive and it shows the depth of love, care and concern that people like you have for us. We have put together three[3] big ways that you can help in tangible ways:

1) Heather’s hospital, Princess Margaret, has many ways that you can help.

2) Donate blood. It’s in you to give! Heather receives numerous blood transfusions each year and there is currently a shortage of O-neg. blood in Ontario. Jeff has been donating blood for over 15 years.

3) Bone Marrow Registry. Many people like Heather will go through a bone marrow transplant. Jeff is on the registry and it was a very simple process.

Thanks for doing what you can! – Heather & Jeff

Heather’s Hospital Working together with health care and research professionals, patients, and the community, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation raises over $60 million annually to support breakthrough research and patient care and education programs of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) – Canada’s leading cancer research hospital. PMH is a recognized international leader in the fight against cancer. But none of this would be possible without the generous support, commitment and dedication of our donors and our community.

Bone Marrow Registry: Canada is responsible for finding and matching volunteer donors for patients who require stem cell transplants. Fewer than 30 per cent of patients who need stem cell transplants find a compatible donor within their own families. The rest rely on those who have volunteered to donate stem cells to anyone in need.

Donate Blood: USAmericans

Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate. There is no substitute for your donation.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. We have been praying for you. The blog is a great idea and probably much easier than returning 800 phone calls per day. The practical ways to help are so useful too. We love you guys very much.
